Chalkboard Nesting Dolls

Last time Hobby Lobby had a sale on wood craft supplies I picked up a set of nesting dolls, not 100% sure what I would do with them but just knowing that whatever I came up with would be fun.

I thought about painting the smallest one to represent my son, the next smallest to represent our home, the next our city, the next our state and so on and so forth. But to be frank….that seemed like a lot of work and I knew easier ways of teaching LittleMan that same concept.

A few aisles after I picked up the nesting dolls I came across some chalkboard paint and it seemed perfect.

I could cover the nesting dolls in chalkboard paint and then LittleMan could use them as an artistic outlet, drawing erasing and redrawing their faces and clothes.

And I could still use them for educational purposes as well, such as for teaching large number sequencing.

These were ridiculously easy to make and the possibilities for what we can do with them are truly endless. I’m excited to see what LittleMan comes up!
