We are in the midst of planning a Wild Kratts party for LittleMan and SunnyGirl’s combined birthdays.
Part of the party favor that the other children will receive are creature power suit gloves. Now, normally I’d make them myself but I swore this year that I was going to lessen my stress levels by delegating some of the tasks to other people. Luckily I just happen to know a woman who is a real whiz with felt crafts.
Kristan of Munchkin and Bean makes fantastic felt creations! Just look at the detail. Nice, even stitching around each tiny part. All done by hand. Impressed doesn’t even begin to cover it. Also, I love knowing that these gloves will hold up against any rough and tumble play that the kids throw at them. With strong craftsmanship like this, they’ll last a good long time.
You can check out some more of Kristan’s felt creations at her Etsy shop which includes an excellent variety of felt foods and felt board pieces and felt play mats.
Besides the creature power suit gloves for all our party guests, I’m also making LittleMan and SunnyGirl their own creature power suit vests to wear to the party. I found an excellent tutorial on Alton Boys blog.
Be sure to be on the look-out for more Wild Kratts posts the rest of the month as we celebrate a Wild Kratts birthday. There will be sensory play, a free printable, and yes we will even be making our own live-size Tortuga!
