I didn’t have much time to really celebrate Dr Seuss’s birthday with my children this year. Things have been hectic for us lately. I did have time to throw together a couple muffin tin snacks but nothing too fancy.
This first one is based off Horton Hears a Who:
Left to right and top to bottom we have: trees (cucumbers) with the Whickersham brothers (barrel of monkeys), goldfish crackers, clover with speck (flower shaped silicone baking cup with ball and drop of ranch dressing), the lake and a fish (ranch dressing with blue food coloring and a goldfish cracker), carrots, peanuts.
This second muffin tin is based off the Sneetches:
Left to right and top to bottom we have: frankfurters (turkey dogs), peanut butter and nutella sandwich with a star cut out of one half, marshmellow ready for roasting on a stick, ketchup, cheddar cheese, apple slices cut into stars.
Considering that my muffin tin snacks usually fall into categories such as, “today we are eating things that are the color orange” or “today we are cleaning out the fridge of random left overs,” I’m actually quite proud of my first attempts at a real themed muffin tin snack. My son certainly seemed to enjoy them, at least.
