I’m excited to be teaming up with several other Geek-Parent bloggers to bring to you this geeky giveaway blog hop.
Basically, we each have a giveaway going on and you can follow the links at the bottom of this post to see all the various prizes and enter to win the ones you want.
The prize I’m offering up is a travel-friendly geek sensory bin (giveaway open only to those in the continental US) but there is also geeky jewelry, geeky printables, and even some fancy geeky chocolate which I’ve been told is delicious.
The travel-friendly geek themed sensory bin is perfect for children to practice fine motor skills in opening/shutting containers, using their pincer grip to pick up small objects, etc.. The materials included offer opportunities for small world play, sorting, and quiet sensory exploration.
The bin itself is a retro Star Wars tin lunch box filled with black cello shred and shiny star confetti.
There are several small empty containers such as a small plastic Vader head container, a small tin Mario coin box container, and a small tin Mario star container. Also included are two barrel shaped containers which are actually mini monkey in a barrel games and are filled with colorful plastic monkeys!
There are three Marvel character finger puppets: Ironman, Captain America, and Spiderman. For a bit of early literacy fun, there are rubber comic book phrase charms.
If the Marvel characters need allies or enemies to battle, they can find them in the included aliens, ninjas, and zombie figurines.
Your kids will be naturally inclined to practice their math skills with the included 7-dice set.
The 4 TMNT finger boards are wonderful for hand and wrist strengthening.
As with all sensory bins, there are a limitless number of ways that it could be played with.
Because this bin is small, light, and has a handle, transportation is easy enough that your child could carry it themselves. Because this bin is filled with cello shred (which is relatively easy to clean up compared to other bin fillers such as rice and beans), playing with this bin in hotel rooms and grandparent’s homes is still safe and relatively low-mess. All in all it would be a great bin for upcoming holiday road trips and family visits.
