Magnetic Easter Sensory Bin, seasonal sensory play with an educational twist

Today I was trying to put together an Easter themed sensory bin but I just couldn’t shake this idea I saw on Creekside Learning: magnets in the sensory bin. So I figured, why not combine the two themes? Easter + magnets = Magnetic Easter Sensory Bin.

It was actually pretty easy to add the magnetic twist to this bin, all I did was attach a magnet to the back of each foam Easter sticker.

While looking through our box of Easter supplies for plastic eggs, I also found a pack of 30 color-your-own puzzles. I went ahead and colored one in real quick, then broke apart the pieces and threw them into the bin. LittleMan was so excited to realize there was a puzzle hidden in the beans, he rushed to find all 9 pieces and assemble it on the spot. He has always been a huge puzzle fan.

Both the kids seemed to really enjoy the magnetic aspect of this bin, they kept holding different items up to the magnet to see what would stick and what wouldn’t. It was an excellent conversational prompt on metal.
