Saturday Science: Density

This week we’re learning about density with this simple twist on the classic sink vs float experiment.

In order to do it, you’ll need two clear containers, one with water and the other with salt water, and various objects to drop into each container.

Some objects will sink in the water and sink in the salt water. Some objects will float in the water and float in the salt water. But some objects will sink in the water and float in the salt water, these objects are more dense than water but less dense than salt water.

  1. That’s a good idea to add salt to a float-or-sink experiment!

I love your posts about your science experiments. Science is one of my favorite subjects because it’s so fun.

Have you ever tried the online science games at Learning Games for Kids? http://www.learninggamesforkids.com/science_experiments.html

The site is free and the games are great. They have games for other subjects as well.

    Joyfully,
    Jackie
