May 4th is coming up soon and I know many of us Star Wars fanatics are hunting down the perfect cosplays, crafts, snack foods, and lesson plans to “wow” our kids with.
To make it easier to find exactly what you are looking for, I and my co-hosts bring you The Ultimate Star Wars Linky Party. All things Star Wars separated by category for ease of searching.
But first a quick tutorial on how to make some super awesome Star Wars footprint (and paw print) art.
LittleMan and I were reading one of his many dinosaur books when he noticed a map at the top corner of the page, a map of Pangaea.
Intrigued by the idea that the seven continents of the world all used to be one large super continent, LittleMan began to describe a story. He told of how he used the Wild Kratts’ time travel trampoline to jump back in time and see Pangaea for himself. I suggested that a lot of people might want to travel Pangaea as well, and that we could make travel brochures to advertise a tourist trip.
For this project we used construction paper, crayons, a map of Pangaea, and our imaginations. (more…)
Have you heard the news? LEGO has announced a Doctor Who set. Pretty fantastic, huh?

This week my STEM Saturday co-hosts and I are doing something a little bit different, we’ve decided to have a theme to our posts this week. So when you’re done reading about our scented hearts experiment, you should head on over to check out:
Candy Heart Catapult: Measuring Distance from Stir the Wonder
Flying Cupids | Static Electricity for Valentine’s Day from The Science Kiddo
Lego Candy Box for Candy Hearts Building Challenge from Little Bins for Little Hands
At a recent trip to Dollar Tree, we spied a set of Spiderman stampers in their seasonal Valentines aisle. I wasn’t quite sure what we’d use them for but I knew they’d come in useful and be fun to play with so I picked up a set for LittleMan.
That evening, there was a Odd Squad episode on TV about patterns. Viola! I knew what to do with the Spiderman stampers: a simple and fun patterning exercise.
Through out this month of January, I will be participating in a collaborative series with 53 other bloggers organized by Little Bins for Little Hands to bring you the A-Z of STEM subjects. While this A-Z STEM series is happening, we also still have our weekly STEM Saturday linky party! This week we’ll be talking about waves.
A wave is the transport of energy without the transport of matter. Waves can travel through mediums such as sound, light, or water. (more…)
If you didn’t know already, I *LOVE* LEGO. I think LEGO products are a fantastic and fun way to learn through play.
So, because I already love LEGO, it isn’t that hard for my children to convince me to buy them a new LEGO set.
Which has obviously resulted in a massive LEGO bricks collection.
Pictured above is about 1/6 of LittleMan’s LEGO bricks. So maybe his collection is getting just a tiny bit out of hand. (more…)

Welcome back to the On Beyond Zombie Linky Party and also, Happy New Year!
We all know the typical New Year’s resolutions: Eat healthier. Exercise more. Organize your house. Kick a bad habit. Save some money.
Things that are all well and good but we all know very few people will still be working those resolutions on February 1st. Still it is human nature to want to improve one’s self and the new year seems like as good an excuse as any to give it a go.
As geeks raising the next generation of geeklings, our goals might vary a bit from the average person. (more…)
