As I mentioned on my Facebook page, our family will be babysitting a 3 year old girl every other week starting tomorrow. We’re excited; it will be good for the kiddos to have someone else to play with. That said, we don’t know much about this girl and meeting new people can be rough when you’re 3 so we’re trying our best to make her feel welcome and comfortable in our home.
Her mom says that she’s a big Tinkerbell fan so I put together this simple small world play for her:
Its pretty basic, just some scented playdough, silk flowers, silk butterfly, glass gems, and some images I printed out and laminated.
The silk flowers, butterfly, and glass gems were all things we already had on hand in our sensory stash. They were purchased from Dollar Tree and have been used in a variety of sensory bins and small world play.
The images are from a free printable playset that I found through Disney online.
The printables are designed so that you can follow directions folding them and they will stand up on their own. Because I was planning to use them in playdough, I cut off the paper stand portion and laminated them for durability.
I guess we’ll see tomorrow if she likes it or not!

She loved it! Highly recommend trying this if you have a preschool Tinkerbell fan on your hands. And if you do try it, let me know how it goes!
